Calvin Analla Jr. is from
the Paguate Village of the Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico and is
a brother to Yvonne Analla Lucas, and brother-in-law to the famed
Hopi potter Steve Lucas. He has learned the pottery making art
and has created a style unique to his Laguna heritage.
Like the other members of
his family, Calvin adheres to traditional methods of pottery
making - including hand coiling, stone burnishing, and firing
outdoors in a sheep dung firing pit.
His work can be found in some
of the finest galleries in the Southwest. We are pleased to feature
new work by this talented artist.
