Lyda M. Toya was born in 1954 and has been making pottery since 1984. She specializes in Storytellers, Nativity sets, Vases & Wedding Vases. She digs her clay from the Jemez Reservation, uses natural slips and fires her pottery outdoors. These are made by the coil and sculpted method. The clay is rolled into ropes and then laid on top of one another to form the desired shape.

She was taught by her mother Estella Toya. She is the sister of Dolores & Lucy Toya. She is the mother of Dorell Toya. She makes pottery full time to support her family.

This was made by, "Lyda Toya" and signed on the bottom.
