I'm always mesmerized by the
eye dazzling designs of Robert Kasero. We don't see many pieces
by him, but when we do, we always snatch them up!
This piece is an amazing example
of his ability to "bend" light, color, and shape creating
an optical illusion that seems to pull you in! The precision
required to balance a complex geometrical design like this is
phenomenal.
Robert Kasero is the husband
of well known Acoma potter Paula Estevan. Robert is a member
of the Laguna/Hopi tribe and mainly specializes carving kachina
dolls. He is in his mid to late 30’s and has been carving
for 20 years. He just started making and painting pottery recently.
